Mind highlights intelligent solutions and industrial automation in the TEXP@CT project

Mind participated in the final event of the TEXP@CT project, a mobilizing initiative that brought together companies, technological centers, and entities from the national scientific system with the goal of accelerating the digital and sustainable transition of the Portuguese textile and apparel industry.

Integrated within the 26 technological solutions demonstrated at Alfândega do Porto, Mind’s contribution stood out through the development of technologies focused on intelligent automation, advanced quality control, and the digitalization of production processes, reinforcing the company’s commitment to Industry 4.0.

 

Automation and artificial intelligence applied to production.

Within the scope of PPS05 – Robotization and Automation, Mind presented a pick-and-place solution for cut parts, developed to increase efficiency and reduce manual operations in industrial environments. Automating this process improves productivity, minimizes errors, and optimizes production flow.

In PPS10 – Responsive Factory, Mind developed an Artificial Intelligence-based solution for the automatic identification of defects in fabric rolls, integrated into a cutting cell. This approach has a strong preventive role in quality control, enabling the early detection of non-conforming materials before they enter the production process, thereby preventing defects from propagating to subsequent stages, particularly in the finished product. At the same time, it contributes to reducing waste and rejects, promoting greater operational efficiency and production sustainability.

 

Digital quality and intelligent production.

Mind’s participation also extended to PPS22 and PPS25 – Digital Product 4.0, with solutions focused on product digitalization and intelligent production experiences.

Among the developments presented was an XR Quality Control system, exploring immersive technologies to support product validation and inspection, enabling faster, more precise, and collaborative processes.

A seamlesswear-oriented solution was also demonstrated, focused on accelerating the productization process through the adaptation of digital models created in conventional cut-and-sew production environments into data compatible with seamless technology. This approach enables a faster transition between development and production, promoting more flexible, customized, and efficient processes.
